The word “ammungan” started to be popularized during the Ammungan Festivals conducted in 1989 through1996, which highlighted the culture of some identified ethnic groups like the Bugkalots, Gaddangs, Ikalahans/ Kalanguyas, Isinais, Iwaks, Ibalois, Kankana-eys, Ifugaos (distinctly classified as Ayangans/ Tuwalis) and with minor participation of other ethno-linguistic groups. The anniversary celebrates the spirit of thanksgiving or “panagyaman”, as it has always been in the past. There is no argument that Novo Vizcayanos, have to be very thankful of the bountiful blessings they have received since the founding of the province of Nueva Vizcaya.
This coffee table book is composed of 110 pages. The design elements were influenced by the Department of Tourism’s design and tagline “It’s More Fun in the Philippines”. Colorful and lively; that is the overall theme of the design. While the design entices the readers, the content also informs them about the province’s history and culture.
